WFS Cashmere Debuts at Pitti Filati 2026: 16GG & 18GG Fine Knit Cashmere OEM for Luxury Brands

Publish Time: 2026-05-22     Origin: WFS Cashmere

WFS Cashmere is coming to Florence.

For the first time, we'll be exhibiting at Pitti Immagine Filati 99 — the most important luxury yarn and knitwear fair in the world — at Booth K11, Fortezza da Basso, June 24–26, 2026.

We're not coming to introduce ourselves to the cashmere industry. We've been supplying international luxury brands for over 10 years, producing more than 600,000 pieces annually across the full gauge range from 3GG to 18GG. We're coming to Pitti because the brands we want to work with are there — and because the conversation about what Chinese cashmere manufacturing is actually capable of is long overdue.

What We're Bringing to Florence

16GG & 18GG Ultra-Fine Cashmere Knitwear

This is the centerpiece of our Pitti debut — and the area where we believe WFS stands apart from most cashmere manufacturers in China.

Fine gauge knitting sounds simple. It isn't. Producing at 16GG and 18GG demands a fundamentally different level of control than standard 7GG or 12GG production:

  • Yarn consistency is non-negotiable. At 16GG and 18GG, even minor variation in yarn diameter causes visible irregularities in the finished fabric. We work with yarn suppliers who can hold tolerances that most mills won't guarantee.

  • Machine environment matters. High-gauge machines are sensitive to temperature and humidity fluctuations. Our production environment is climate-controlled specifically to maintain stable knitting conditions.

  • Finishing requires a lighter hand. Ultra-fine cashmere fabric can be damaged by the same finishing processes that work perfectly on heavier gauges. Our finishing team is trained specifically for fine gauge work.

The result is cashmere knitwear with a hand-feel that experienced buyers describe as "baby skin" — silky, weightless, and extraordinarily smooth. At 16GG and 18GG, cashmere stops feeling like a sweater and starts feeling like a second skin.

These pieces are designed for the luxury spring/summer market: fine-knit cashmere tops, lightweight layering pieces, delicate accessories, and transitional knitwear that works across seasons. If your brand is looking for a manufacturer who can execute this category at genuine luxury standards — and do it at scale — that's the conversation we want to have at Pitti.

Silk-Cashmere Blends: Four Ratios, One Goal

Beyond pure cashmere, we're presenting our silk-cashmere blend program — a range developed specifically for brands that want the softness of cashmere combined with the drape, sheen, and durability that mulberry silk provides.

We offer four standard blend ratios, each with a distinct character:

Blend

Composition

Best For

Silk-forward luxury

85% silk + 15% cashmere

Close-fitting summer pieces, lightweight scarves

Balanced silk-cashmere

70% silk + 30% cashmere

Transitional layering, elevated basics

Cashmere-forward blend

75% cashmere + 25% silk

Soft-hand pieces with improved structure

Equal-weight blend

45% cashmere + 55% silk

Year-round accessories, drape-focused styles

All four blends are available in our fine gauge range, including 16GG and 18GG. The silk content adds a natural luster to the finished fabric that photographs exceptionally well — an increasingly important consideration for brands building direct-to-consumer channels.

We also offer fully custom blending across a wide range of fibers: linen, cotton, superfine wool, and luxury animal fibers including yak and qiviut. If you have a fiber specification in mind, bring it to Florence and we'll talk through what's achievable.

Fine Cashmere-Wool Blend: Accessible Luxury at Scale

For brands building a broader price architecture — entry-level pieces that still carry a premium hand-feel — our fine cashmere-wool blend offers a practical solution.

By combining superfine wool with cashmere using our fine-knitting technology, we produce fabric that:

  • Retains the softness and warmth of cashmere

  • Offers better elasticity and shape retention than pure cashmere

  • Reduces material cost without compromising the luxury feel

This blend is particularly well-suited to brands that want to offer a cashmere-adjacent product at a more accessible retail price point, while maintaining the quality standards their customers expect.

Production Capacity and Quality Standards

We understand that luxury brands don't just need beautiful samples — they need a manufacturer who can deliver consistently at volume, on time, every season.

Here's what our production operation looks like:

  • Annual capacity: 600,000+ pieces

  • Monthly output: ~50,000 pieces

  • Gauge range: 3GG through 18GG, all in-house

  • QC process: 100% final inspection, photographic documentation, third-party inspection available (SGS, Bureau Veritas)

  • Lead time: 25–35 days from sample approval for standard production runs

Our facility covers the complete production process in-house — from yarn preparation and dyeing through knitting, linking, washing, finishing, and packaging. Vertical integration means fewer handoffs, tighter quality control, and faster response when something needs to change.

Our standard MOQ is 100 pieces per style. For initial orders or new client relationships, we offer flexibility — contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

Q: Can you produce 16GG and 18GG in custom designs, or only from your existing range?

Both. We offer ODM services using our existing style library as a starting point, and full OEM production from your own technical specifications and designs. Our development team can work from a sketch, a reference garment, or a detailed tech pack.

Q: How long does sampling take for a fine gauge style?

Typically 2–4 weeks for a standard fine gauge sample. Complex constructions or fully custom designs may take longer. We include up to 3 revision rounds in our standard sampling process.

Yes. Our OEKO-TEX, BSCI, SEDEX, WRAP, and ISO 9001 certifications apply across our production facility and cover all fiber types and blend compositions we produce.
